Makassar – Lonjakan tagihan listrik di seluruh Indonesia membuat masyarakat menjerit. Seperti yang terjadi di Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan. Ratusan mahasiswa yang tergabung dalam Badan Koordinasi Himpunan Mahasiswa Islam (HIPMI) provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dan Sulawesi Barat gelar aksi demo di depan kantor PLN, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan.
Demo mahasiswa ini berakhir ricuh, berawal ketika sekelompok mahasiswa mencoba memberhentikan mobil untuk dijadikan panggung orasi (menyampaikan pendapat), namun dihalangi oleh polisi. Sehingga terjadi aksi saling dorong dan kejar-kejaran yang menyebabkan seorang pengunjuk rasa sempat diamankan di dalam area kantor PLN, lalu dibebaskan.
Aksi dorong-dorongan reda setelah seorang perwakilan PLN bersedia menemui perwakilan pengunjuk rasa. Dalam pertemuan, pengunjuk rasa menyampaikan tuntutan agar PLN transparan (terbuka) dan terperincian terhadap tagihan listrik pelanggan, PLN harus bertanggung jawab atas lonjakan tagihan listrik, dan menolak keras pencabutan dan pembongkaran alat KWH Meter. Namun pertemuan tidak menemukan kesepakatan.
Dalam aksi demo berujung ricuh, seorang pengunjuk rasa sempat diamankan di dalam area kantor PLN, yang pada akhirnya dibebaskan.
