Yogyakarta – Wabahnya virus Corona membuat beberapa sektor ekonomi anjlok.
Namun berbanding terbalik dengan peternak susu kambing Etawa.
Pasalnya susu kambing Etawa malah banyak diburu orang.
Susu yang diproduksi dari kambing asal India dipercaya masyarakat mampu menguatkan sistem Imun, sehingga dapat mencegah terjangkit virus Corona. Setelah kabar ini tersebar luas, banyak warga yang datang membeli susu Etawa. Dari lingkungan sekitar sampai luar pulau Jawa.
Para peternak kambing Kulonprogo, Yogyakarta merasakan minat konsumen yang meningkat tajam hingga lebih dari 50%. Karena peningkatan permintaan, maka setiap peternak mampu memproduksi susu sampai 50 liter/hari.
Permintaan susu kambing Etawa yang meningkat, tidak serta merta merta harga pun ikut merangkak naik. Justru ada peternak yang menurunkan harga susu Rp. 5 ribu/liter. Dari semula yang berharga Rp. 20 ribu/liter, menjadi Rp. 15 ribu/liter. Penurunan harga susu dilakukan peternak, agar semua kalangan mampu membelinya.
