Depok – Timun atau mentimun adalah buah pelengkap yang biasanya tersedia sebagai di dalam lalapan, acar atau salad.

Timun masuk ke dalam golongan buah karena dapat dinikmati langsung tanpa perlu dimasak, sebagai bagian dari tanaman yang berkembang dari bunga dan juga mengandung biji tanaman.

Buah yang mirip dengan Semangka ini memiliki manfaat untuk kesehatan tubuh, antara lain: Menurunkan kadar gula dalam darah,  mengobati cacingan dan membantu mengendalikan darah tinggi (hipertensi).

Caranya mudah, cukup makan 1 buah timun 3x sehari. 1 buah sebelum sarapan, 1 buah sebelum makan siang dan 1 buah sebelum tidur.

Mentimun mengandung Protein, sedikit lemak, Karbohidrat, Kalsium, Zat esi, magnesium, fosforus, vitamin A, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin C dan senyawa Cucurbita.
