Bandung – PT. Bio Farma dan Universitas Padjajaran akan uji coba Vaksin Corona asal China di Bandung, Jawa Barat.Hal ini diucapkan Ketua tim Peneliti Uji Klinis Vaksin Covid-19 Profesor Dr. Kusnandi Rusmil saat konperensi pers di rumah sakit pendidikan Universitas Padjajaran Jl. Professor Eyckmen, Bandung, Jawa Barat, Rabu (22/7/2020). Vaksin rencananya akan diuji pada bulan Agustus terhadap 1.620 orang dengan usia antara 18 sampai 59 tahun.
Profesor Dr. Kusnandi Rusmil mengatakan, menguji vaksin Sinovac, karena hanya China yang sudah melakukan penelitian sampai fase 3.
“Kita pakai vaksin asal China, karena baru China yang sudah melakukan penelitian hingga ke fase III. Kita harus cepat menggunakan vaksin ini karena kita sudah banyak korbannya,” kata Kusnandi.
Menurutnya, sebelum vaksin digunakan secara luas, vaksin harus menjalani tahap preklinis dan klinis. Pada tahap preklinis, antigen vaksin diperiksa kestabilannya, baik secara fisik maupun kimia. Hasilnya, vaksin tersebut secara fisik dan kimia sudah stabil.
Vaksin juga sudah diuji cobakan kepada hewan. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa vaksin tetap aman dan membentuk zat anti. Setelah dinyatakan aman dan bekerja pada hewan, vaksin kemudian diujicobakan ke manusia.
Professor Kusnandi menegaskan, vaksin di China sudah diuji kepada 100 orang. Setelah dinyatakan aman, diuji coba setidaknya kepada 400 orang.
“Dalam 3 bulan pertama akan ada 540 orang yang menjadi Subjek uji coba. Ada subjek yang disuntik vaksin, ada juga yang disuntik Plasebo. Setelah 3 bulan, akan kita pantau selama 6 bulan,” kata Kusnandi.
Indonesia termasuk salah satu dari 5 negara tempat uji coba selain Amerika Latin, Bangladesh, India dan Chili.
Kusnandi juga menyatakan vaksin sudah diuji coba di Brasil terhadap 8.000 orang.
